Differences between Acrobat Professional & Standard

If you’re considering which version of Acrobat to buy, there are a couple of things to know. The main difference between versions is that Acrobat 8 Professional can create forms, while Standard cannot. Acrobat Professional also comes with Designer, a separate program with many additional form features. Aside from form tools Acrobat Professional also has:

  • Redaction tools for permanently removing data from PDF files.
  • The Touchup Object tool for moving and resizing images
  • PDF conversion buttons in AutoCAD

Ultimately, whether you should buy Professional or Standard depends on what you’ll be doing with Acrobat. If you see yourself making PDF forms, then definitely get Professional. Otherwise, Standard should work fine. For a complete list of differences:
